- Alabama ranks #1 as the state with the highest rate of people with diabetes (8.9 people out of every 100 have diabetes) within total population statistics.
- In 2005, 305,000Â adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 10% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes. Â An additional 2% of Alabamans have also been diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
