- 15.2 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Hawaii are due to diabetes and Hawaii has the lowest ratio of diabetes related deaths in the United States.
- In 2007, 8% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes and another 3% of Hawaiians had been diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
