- 6.7 out of every 100 adults in Illinois has diabetes, ranking it 22nd highest in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes in the general population.
- 24.4 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Illinois are due to diabetes; 32nd in the nation for diabetes-related deaths.
- In 2005, 660,000 Illinois adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 9% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
