- 20.7 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Iowa are due to diabetes; ranking 44th in the nation for diabetes-related deaths.
- In 2005, 150,000 Iowa adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 7% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
