- 27.8 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Michigan are due to diabetes; ranking 16th highest in the number of diabetes deaths in the nation.
- In 2005, 599,000 Michigan adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 9% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
